With a growing number of branch/remote workers, middle market firms are using a variety of applications and communication services to keep disparate workgroups in synch. In-Stat estimates these firms invested more than $14 billion on communication services and equipment in 1998. Increasing remote access demands and needs for WAN connectivity promise to, not only affect middle market demand for communication services to both main offices and remote worker's home, but also will lead to their increased investment in more powerful and capable communication equipment. By 2002, In-Stat estimates middle market firms will spend nearly $18 billion on communication services and equipment.
